I'd like Schaub for a year or two so we can wait for a QB that we're REALLY sold on. Don't have to compromise for one of this year's QBs...pick up a veteran and bide our time while our younger players get playing experience. Then when "the guy" comes around, we snatch him up and put him in a great place to succeed.

Matt Schaub is a great fit for the Raiders. He may lead them to the playoffs next year.

Eh. Stretch. If he has a great season he might lead us to 8-8. We play the Broncos twice, the Chiefs twice, the Chargers twice, Pats, 49ers, Cardinals, and Seahawks. Then our six "easier" games include the Rams, Texans, and Browns, all of whom could have a big year. And then the Jets, Bills, and Dolphins xD

We're going to have a top 10 pick again next season.

Looks like Schaub for a 6th. Excellent take for us, and opens up more drafting possibilities. I still have a sinking feeling that a QB is going to be our first pick, but at least with a vet pickup like this we could look at taking a dynamic defender, Watkins, or trading back. I don't see an OT as an option anymore just based on the sheer number of signings we made on OL.

I really like the way the team looks now vs. the way it did at the beginning of the season.

Let's just say, with Schaub as our QB now that we draft Clowney or Khalil Mack at #5. We'll have a great defense and an offense that will be serviceable. I wouldn't be surprised if we won ~9 games next year.

ehh i wouldnt call either side of the ball great. average, yea sure. we gota see how the look in a game first. i definitely like how we are doing in FA building the team though, should be an improvement from last year i sure hope.

Idk man, Tuck, Smith and Woodley are all above average players at their position
We saw last year that Nick Roach and Sio Moore are both also good, strong, solid players
Tyvon Branch and Woodson at safety have 0 question marks.

It'll be interesting to see how Tarrell Brown and DJ Hayden do at corner. That's where I have the most worry on D.

But if you take those guys and add elite draft prospects in Clowney or Mack, that's a very very strong defensive unit.

I would shit myself if we won more than 6 games. Look at our schedule, we're fucked over.

Also, I don't feel that we improved $70M. Yes, we improved our OL--and that's HUGE. We also got a promising CB that will hopefully resign after his short contract. But we didn't significantly improve on DL/LB, and we got a lot older. And our one bright spot on offense? We let him walk.

I don't know that we'll perform significantly better this season than we did last season, it depends on Schaub almost entirely. And then 3 years down the road, when Manning retires and our window opens...how will we look then, as compared to how we looked previously? Not better.
