Report: Collins Being Shopped; Will Be Cut If No Takers

Code
While coming as not a big surprise, Ian Rapoport tweeted Monday afternoon that the Bucs are shopping tackle Anthony Collins and if a trade partner isn’t found last year’s free agent replacement for Donald Penn will be released.

Collins was part of a prized free agent class that was signed on the opening day of free agency last March but wore out his welcome in Tampa Bay by the end of the season. Collins, a former Bengal reserve, started and played in 10 games for Tampa Bay last season and struggled with consistency on the field and battled some injuries. Collins managed to get into the organization’s dog house, and was a healthy scratch over the last few weeks of the season. Sources told PewterReport.com that the team wasn’t happy with Collins effort to rehab from a late season injury.

For now Tampa Bay has Demar Dotson pegged to start training camp as the starter at left tackle, creating a void on the right side where Dotson has played well the last few years.

take it for what is worth.

Jameis Winston in Tampa today as part of a 3-day visit w/ Buccaneers, per sources. Visit centers around owners, said to be "Glazer-centric."

Jameis Winston visiting Buccaneers today might be unprecedented. Potential No. 1 picks don't visit teams with No. 1 pick this early. Ever.

Trent Cole Visiting With Buccaneers

Code
The Buccaneers are confirming that pass-rusher Trent Cole is visiting with the team on Thursday, March 5. Cole was released by the Eagles on March 4 after playing all 10 of his NFL seasons with the team.

Over the course of his career, Cole was named to the Pro Bowl twice – once in 2007 and again in 2009.

His 85.5 sacks are second on the Eagles’ all-time list only to Hall-of-Famer Reggie White. He has 436 career tackles and has missed just five games in his professional career.

Cole made the transition from a 4-3 defensive end to a 3-4 outside linebacker in 2014 and performed, “better than expected,” according to NJ.com’s Mark Eckel.

One reason Trent Cole is in Tampa is he's eager to get back to playing DE in a 4-3 scheme. That's where he's been at his best.

My offseason predicitions
aka my wishlist

Cut

P - Michael Koenen (rumored going to happen)
S - Dashon Goldson
QB - Josh Mccown
LT - Anthony Collins (rumored going to happen)
WR - Vincent Jackson (if not tradeable)
RE - Michael Johnson

Trade

QB - Mike Glennon [3rd the highest , 5th the lowest]
WR - Vincent Jackson [2nd the highest , 3rd the lowest]
HB - Doug Martin [4th if possible would accept anything lower]

Sign (Free Agency)

QB - Brian Hoyer (probably wont happen, but remember this is a dreamlist)
HB - Mark Ingram
WR - Randall Cobb
or Cecil Shorts (and make Mike Evans the #1)
Tackle - Brian Bulaga
Guard - Mike Iupati or Orlando Frankin
RE - Greg Hardy or Jason Pierre-Paul (I doubt either will be available)
S - Devin Mccourty

Draft

R1 - QB - Marcus Mariota
R2 - G - Arie Kouandjio
R3 - DE - Owamagbe Odighizuwa (that's only if we cannot land Hardy or JPP

So in conclusion:

- We've improved (slightly) at offensive line
- We've improved at saftey
- We've improved at defensive end
- We have our QB of the future, with a decent back up.
- Replaced our vet WR with a younger and better receiver in Cobb
- Replaced our 1 year wonder in Doug Martin, for someone who finally showed his potential in Mark Ingram

Yes it may seem expensive, but when haven't seen the playoffs in years. I'm not saying this roster is guaranteed to make the playoffs but who knows?
With the roster we had in 2014, the media was saying how we would win the South and make the playoffs.

red = how dead wrong i was

Again, it’s a long shot that the Bucs land Murray, but it is at least a possibility.

...so you're saying there's a chance?

Honestly, it is a possibility, I guess, considering they have all that cap space and whatnot, but I don't know. I'd like to see them make aggressive moves in free agency on offense but I have a feeling Murray goes to a contender :/. I keep holding the delusion that Doug Martin will be a 1,000+ yard rusher again. Maybe if they go hard on the offensive line him and Sims can be good.
