From what I've been reading the last two days, it seems like Collins coming back should be solely on whether or not he convinces TT and MM that he's good to go. Lot of interviews with doctors and surgeons about it suggest he should have no issue returning to the field.

Woo, I love collins. One of my favorite players to watch, he's like a ninja. Nobody really notices him then BOOM interception or deflection or there to stop the run. Love the guy, he's outstanding. Just hope that he's not risking his life to play football.

If there was any risk of that type, I'm sure he would have already announced that he's not returning.

The difference in number of home games per season is what really makes this nuts. Redsox are 8+ seasons. Mavs are just under 11 full seasons. Canucks are about 10 seasons. Packers' streak started in 1965.

Awesome, though I'd be more impressed if the Redskins weren't tailing by just a few paces.

I meant to include that their streak started in 1966, must have forgotten. Just amazes me that these teams don't build bigger stadiums. Especially the Giants/Jets new one. I don't know what's going on with the Patriots, but they really need to add some seating there. 60,000 leaves them as the smallest stadium in the league and literally half the size of Dallas'.

I'd like to see an attendance number next to it, because I know they don't fill the stadium every game. Not sure if the team has started buying back tickets to avoid the blackout, but I can't remember a game there where the attendance was max of the 10+ I've been to.

Ha, wow. Reading this article, I'd be very pleased if TT doesn't trade the first round pick.

Quote
The Green Bay Packers have held the 28th pick just four times since the NFL draft began in 1936, but the Packers have certainly thrived from that spot.

Green Bay selected defensive back Bobby Dillon in 1952, guard Ed Blaine in 1962, safety Tom Brown in 1963, and defensive end Ezra Johnson in 1977. All four went on have highly productive careers.

Dillon led the Packers in interceptions each of his seven seasons with the team (1952-'58) and holds the franchise record with 52 career picks. Blaine played just one year in Green Bay, then went to Philadelphia, where he became an all-pro in 1964.

Brown was a starting strong safety on Green Bay's first two Super Bowl teams and is most famous for his last-second interception of Dallas' Don Meredith in the 1966 NFL title game.

Johnson played the first 11 of his 15 seasons in Green Bay and posted 20½ sacks in 1978 before it was an official stat. Johnson might be notable, though, for eating a hot dog on the sidelines during a preseason game in 1980.

Can Ted Thompson have similar success when the first round is held April 26?

"We think we have a pretty solid team," Thompson said during February's NFL scouting combine. "Obviously, we'd like to get better."

Over the last 20 years, there have been far more hits than misses at No. 28.

By subjective analysis, the last 20 drafts have produced 13 players that can be labeled either outstanding or quality starters (65.0%). On the flip side, only four players would be considered complete busts (20.0%). The jury remains out on three players.

Here's a look at the hits and misses of the last 20 players selected at No. 28.

HOME RUNS

Trevor Pryce, DL: Four-time Pro Bowl player and two-time Super Bowl champ during terrific 14-year career (1997-2010). Had 91 career sacks and was named to Denver's 50th Anniversary Team.

Derrick Brooks, LB: Spent his entire 14-year career (1995-2008) in Tampa Bay and is arguably the best player in franchise history. Named to 11 Pro Bowls, made more than 1,700 career tackles and is likely a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

KEEPERS

Eric Wood, C: Tough, physical player who's battled injuries his first three seasons in Buffalo.

Joe Staley, LT: Staley was a starter from Day 1 in San Francisco and has developed into one of NFL's elite tackles. Named to 2011 Pro Bowl but has battled slew of injuries.

Mercedes Lewis, TE: Starter the past five years and set Jaguars' single-season TD record in 2010 with 10. Slumped in 2011.

Luis Castillo, DT: Highly productive player for San Diego from 2005-'10 (81 starts, 19 sacks). Missed 2011 with fractured leg.

Chris Gamble, CB: Former Packer general manager Mike Sherman went with Ahmad Carroll over Gamble in 2004. Ouch. Gamble has been an eight-year starter in Carolina and has 27 career INTs.

Rob Morris, LB: Played eight years in Indianapolis (2000-'07), started five of those at middle linebacker, and was key reserve on Super Bowl XLI champion team.

R.W. McQuarters, CB: Played for four teams in 11-year career.

Jerome Woods, CB: Had solid 10-year career in Kansas City that included one Pro Bowl appearance (2003).

William Floyd, FB: Had terrific seven-year career (20 touchdowns) for San Francisco and Carolina before knee injuries took a toll.

Thomas Smith, CB: Respectable player during nine-year career spent mostly in Buffalo.

Darryl Williams, S: Played 10 years with Cincinnati and Seattle (1992-2001), had 31 career interceptions and made 1997 Pro Bowl.

JURY IS OUT

Mark Ingram, RB: Had just 474 rushing yards and five TDs during injury-plagued rookie season with New Orleans.

Jared Odrick, DT: Has just 23 tackles and one sack during first two years in Miami.

Lawrence Jackson, DE: Seattle gave up on Jackson after two seasons and traded him to Detroit for a sixth-round pick. But Jackson has 10½ sacks in the last two seasons for the Lions.

BUSTS

Andre Woolfolk, CB: Disappointing player who played for Tennessee from 2003-'06 and has been out of football since.

Jerramy Stevens, TE: Had 22 TDs during nine-year career in Seattle and Tampa Bay. But long list of off-the-field transgressions overshadowed his on-field highlights.

Derrick Gibson, S: Highest-drafted safety in 2001, but never panned out in Oakland and was out of football by the end of 2006.

Andy Katzenmoyer, LB: Neck injury limited his career to just 24 games with New England.
