I hope it’s going well up there. Your crazy sister is giving a Johnnie speech today at work in your memory. I know she’s pretty amazing, right. And that Iowa kid got another promotion at work, you’d be pretty proud of her. She’s even been to a couple of Packer games at Gallagher’s with me and your Mom. She was extremely loud and obnoxious. Wonder where she got that from.
Your Mom is doing OK. She’s been staying very busy and stressing about having Tio Jefe visit over the holidays. Good thing Auntie Barbara will be here to keep him in line. They check in with us regularly to make sure we’re doing OK. Ms. Lori struggled with Christmas decorations this year. I guess there were too many memories of you in the ornaments. But she’s gonna be OK cause sshhh, Santa’s hoping to bring her a special gift this Christmas.
That fiancée of yours, well she is simply amazing. She is taking a new direction in her professional life and you’d be very proud of her. We talk several times each week. She is also driving your car everyday, she said you’d be Ok with that. I thought otherwise knowing how much you loved your baby. I can tell you Jessica is a much better driver than you are. I don’t have to brace myself for impact at every turn with her. Your baby is in good hands.
As for me, I am going to the Packer game next weekend. I know you’re going to be right there with me. I’m going with a bunch of Raven fans, the murder-birdies don’t stand a chance against us or so we hope. Godgers has been nothing but a drama queen this season, I know you would defend him to the end and if he wins a super bowl, I’ll even shut up about him. Look at the tribute below your friends did for you at the Vikings/ Packers game last month. The numbers they wear on the jersey are of course the day we lost you. They love and miss you son. This is just one of many tributes that have happened in your honor.
John, the support and love that has been extended to us by so many family, friends, and neighbors has been overwhelming. Everyone has been incredibly kind and generous. They realize they can never understand our pain, but want to extend their love by just doing really nice things. Many check in weekly and you can’t imagine how helpful that is as we evolve into whatever we become from your loss.
As always I am ending with letting you know how proud I am of you. This new life you’ve chosen makes me grateful to be your father and always encouraged to see what life has in store for you.
