Yeah I spaced on Mendy. I agree, all guys who could fit in and fill holes but I wouldn't give any of them anything significant as you said. And, I know Bethel and Fleming were drafted for Horton's scheme but I really have fallen in love with both of those guys and I think with a little more time they could both develop into very sound players. Idk though as a whole what to think of our team yet though lol, just have to wait and see.
I think it's all but certain that Kolb is gone or going to be offered the chance to take significantly less money. With Hoyer, whoever we draft and either Lindley or Skelton, I don't think another vet is needed.
I think Skelton and Lindley are on the outside looking in(Skelton hasn't been tendered yet to my knowledge, might not be), only 1 will make it to preseason. Hoyer's proven nothing, he's likely being viewed as the #2 right now. Kolb/Stanton as the #1, and a mid-round rookie as the #3. I don't mind one bit bringing in Stanton for Kolb even though Kolb's a better QB IMO, Stanton's a better fit for Arians' offense and has a year under him. Stanton's still a bit of an unknown, hasn't had many opportunities to showcase his ability. The fact that Hoyer succeeded him at MSU could also mean the 2 have a friendship of some sort.
I like Fleming but Horton didn't let him play the whole 2nd half of the season. I wouldn't be surprised if Bethel moved to safety based on what I've heard regarding Bowles' scheme. Need 3 good corners in this league, right now we have 1 and a couple unknowns.
Of the players mentioned, I wouldn't give Maualuga/Mendenhall anything guaranteed past 1 season, wouldn't pay Cribbs/Alexander more than 1 million per season, wouldn't pay Powers any more than half of what Toler got(so 3/7.5 max).
