if we split vs the 49ers and texans, which one do you think is more probable to be a win?
Well, since Miami's D line was able to "stop the rune" as they say, even though Bush got hurt, he and Spiller really shredded the Jets run D those two games. Good run D vs. Pitt though.
Both of those teams can run the ball, and I see that as a problem for the Jets... If Revis is actually really hurt, they can have issues in the secondary too. I mean if Peyton has trouble scoring on the Texans, Sanchez most definitely will. Jets run game hasn't done much and I'm unimpressed. Sure they're 2-1 and on top of the division, but the only wins they have are over an anemic Bills team and a disgusting, ugly game against Miami. 0 wins outside the division so far. Anyway they can't stop the run always, can't defend passes as well without Revis, commit retarded penalties on both sides of the ball, can't always run the ball, don't try to run the ball, can't get a first down, can't complete a pass, and then all of a sudden they get a 66 yard catch & run by Kerley that sets up first and goal. Which ends up being a field goal.
IF we expect the Jets to win EITHER of the games against the 49ers or Texans, they need TDs, not field goals (or endzone INTs), and the offense needs to not squander opportunities that the defense creates. They ALSO need to stay on the field for a while to stop the defense from getting tired, because both are VERY physical teams when it comes to running the ball, and the longer you can keep a methodological drive going, the better to get your defense some rest. Sanchez connected with Holmes really well today, and I hope he can get that same separation vs. their next opponent, but it's doubtful. The Vikings showed us that the 49ers aren't invincible - but it seems unlikely. The Texans game? Forget it.
I'd say Jets have like a 25% chance vs the Niners, and like 10% against the Texans. But hey - they are resilient and can come from behind (though vs. Miami you shouldn't have to) and Sanchez even had a 300 yard passing game, so what the fuck do I know? Maybe they go out there and run the ball down their throat for 60 minutes and rock hard. I hope the Jets win, but I'm just thinking the Texans game will probably have an L in the column. Then again, you never know until you're on the field. Either way, I wouldn't get my hopes up too much for those. I just hope Sanchez can keep the starting job if the Jets open up 2-2 or 2-3.
