Also, Packers apparently out of the running for Dave Tollefson.

I know the purpose was to be lighter and dry, I just don't see how big a difference it really makes. I mean, it's not like these guys have much padding on anyway.

I figured they'd have a whole new line of cold gear clothing to go with it, I was just wondering about the actual jerseys themselves.

Pads all depend on position right? Some are quite bulky.....for example check out the Riddell EVX line...serious business.

If by position, you mean what they typically wear, then yes. As far as I know, only shoulder pads/helmet are mandatory. As a WR/DB I'm not wearing much more than that, but if I'm in the trenches, I'll take everything I can get, with a re-enforced cup, thanks.

From playing experience, cup is very uncomfy. Just played without. 8 years took 1 hit to the nuts, and that was in a practice.
Oh ya, check out some WRs they are not wearing any thigh or knee pads....or if they are ultra slim ones...

I never wore one, but it's a much different game when you're part of the pile in the NFL than highschool.

played beyond HS and College. But no doubt. Not like hockey thats forsure. I even tried one of those set up where the cup was built into a pair of "underwear" like shock doctor....still not comfy with those
tight pants.

Currently coaching a kids team now.

LOL news from DWTS

Meanwhile, Driver reportedly intervened in an off-the-dance-floor spat actor Jaleel White and his dance partner, Kym Johnson.

According to published reports, Driver tried to calm White down as the actor chastised Johnson at a rehearsal. Erkel going ham

Mark Murphy did his first segment of answering 5 fan questions, one of which happened to deal with the uniforms.

Quote
Why did the Packers elect not to use/wear the new uniforms made by Nike?

The NFL and the Packers are very excited to begin a new partnership with Nike and are looking forward to the iconic Nike swoosh on our uniforms. The look of our jerseys will remain the same in honor of the tradition and history of the uniform, so I don’t foresee the Packers changing the look.

With regard to the materials, for this year we are comfortable with our current design and fabrication relative to performance. However, we are open-minded and look forward to working with Nike on future uniforms with the technology they will continue to develop for the NFL.

Sounds like there was some disagreement about whether Nike should be able to use the new material on the old style jersey.

Comment From Tommy
Hey John, who has the best nickname in the locker room?

John Kuhn: Tommy, punter Tim Masthay has the best nickname. It's Ginger Wolverine, for his long red sideburns.

Hahaha.

From what I've been reading the last two days, it seems like Collins coming back should be solely on whether or not he convinces TT and MM that he's good to go. Lot of interviews with doctors and surgeons about it suggest he should have no issue returning to the field.
