Not necessarily. But Manziel thrives on making plays that can only be made in a college atmosphere. I would shy away from "dual threats", but anyone who relies on extending plays at the college level and winning with athleticism over raw passing ability is a shaky gamble. We've seen this go south before. We've seen limited success recently, true, but the jury is still out on how these teams will develop as the future continues. RG3 got wrecked. Russel Wilson has done well but he's not the reason the Seahawks are winning. Same with Kaep. Newton has been very successful. Vince Young wasn't at all.
I'm not sold on any of the QBs this year. It's not just Manziel. But I think of the top 3 he is the least-safe bet.
RG3 was successful but got hurt because he doesn't know when to slide or run out of bounds. Manziel does know how to do that.
I think it depends entirely on the QB's commitment to winning and improving and getting better, and all the things I've seen about Manziel seem to imply that. I have 100% faith that if we build a strong team via the remainder of free agency, like we've already begun to do, drafting Manziel will be the best thing for this organization. Manziel is the only player in this draft that has the potential to get the Raiders to 10 wins next year.
