John Beck and rookie Case Keenum will see action at quarterback in the Texans’ final preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings tonight. Beck will start and play the entire first half. Keenum will play the third and fourth quarters. The Texans have to cut their roster to 53 players on Friday.

Gary Kubiak will name the team's third-string quarterback after the game. Because Keenum is a rookie, the former University of Houston star could be released then re-signed to the team’s practice squad next week. But he’d have to clear waivers first.

I'm hoping that Case Keenum wins the roster spot with a great second half tonight. I don't think he will clear waivers. A couple teams out there would probably show enough interest in signing him as their third-string QB. I'd rather see John Beck released even though he has a better grasp of Kubiak's offense because he played for Mike Shanahan and the Redskins.

Does anybody know if Adrian Peterson is playing for the Vikings tonight or are the Vikes going to be playing all of their backups also? We're finally going to get a good look at rookie wide receiver DeVier Posey in this game. He should play most of the game. I hope he does something positive for the first time. He's been nowhere near as good as Lestar Jean or Keshawn Martin. At best, he could make the team as the number 5 or 6 WR but he hasn't done nothing to impress anybody yet.

I just missed the end of the sports segment. I think they said Adrian Peterson was playing but I may have heard wrong.

Ya im sure you did, why the fuck would they play him? They would save him for week 1 if he was ready, not like he is trying to earn a spot on the team.

I tuned into ABC 13 (local news here in Houston) right as Bob Allen said Adrian Peterson's name. I didn't make out what else he said but then it went back to the news anchors and one of them said, "That's not good news for the Texans. Enjoy the game later tonight." And then the news ended. LOL, I'm just assuming they were talking about Peterson playing. The Texans have none of their important starters playing tonight so it would be dumb for the Vikings to start anybody important.

Here we go! Texans have 75 players suited for tonight's game. By tomorrow it will be down to 53.
