The only concern I have is the offensive line staying healthy all year long. Especially the new look right side. We can't afford a major injury to Antoine Caldwell at Right Guard because Brandon Brooks isn't ready to play and has been struggling mightily in the pre-season. Also Rashad Butler has not separated himself as the clear cut starter at Right Tackle like I thought he would. It seems Derek Newton is doing well and has been pushing him for the job.

T.J. Yates was sacked 6 times in the past two games with Brandon Brooks playing Right Guard and that was only 3 quarters, LOL.

At least we know we've got an All Pro talent at Left Tackle (Duane Brown) and Center (Chris Myers). The two most important positions on the offensive line. And Wade Smith is solid at Left Guard. We're going to have to lean on those guys all year long as the guys on the right side keep improving.

Former NFL defensive assistant coach Alvin Reynolds predicts a 13-3 record for the Houston Texans in 2012.

13-3 would be amazing given how tough their non-division schedule is. I'm thinking 11-5 or 10-6 is more realistic because you have to anticipate multiple injuries to key players along the way. If they can keep a relatively healthy team all year long then I can see them challenging for a top two seed in the AFC and a first-round bye in the playoffs.

Last year's team would have gone 14-2 or 13-3 (not 10-6) had they stayed healthy but their overall schedule was much weaker last season. We also had Mike Brisiel and Eric Winston at RG and RT, two very good and established veterans. We need to see how Caldwell and Butler (or Newton) perform for an entire season.

I'm not too worried as long as that "Bulls on Parade" defense plays at a high level. They haven't had all of their best defensive starters playing in the pre-season and it has shown. J.J. Watt in particular, is an irreplaceable player to Wade Phillips' 3-4 defense. I think we'll see them flying around and causing havoc once Week 1 rolls around.

Truth be told, the record doesn't even matter. As long as the Texans make the playoffs and are healthy during the playoffs they can easily go on a nice little run all the way to the Super Bowl. Just like the Giants did last year. You just have to be hot at the right time. I could care less if the Texans are playing a road playoff game so long as they've got Matt Schaub at quarterback. Not T.J. Yates and his 3 INTs thrown at Baltimore (FML).

They could hit 33 points against Miami Week 1 at home. They'll go up by two scores and then Gary Kubiak will run the ball 80 % of the time in the second half.

Similar to their Week 1 home game last year. LOL

34-0 lead at halftime and they shut it down in the second half (no points). Mostly run after run to milk 30 minutes of clock time with Foster and Tate. It wasn't a great game for Schaub though, two INTs and easily the worst game he had last year despite the blowout win.

Former Cowboys LB Dat Nguyen, who works for San Antonio sports radio, was giving him some pointers last week.

It seemed to pay off in the last game. This guy is going to be a fresh beast rotating in for Reed or Barwin. LOL, it's scary to think about all of the great edge rushers the Texans have. They should lead the NFL in total sacks this year. People forget that Whitney Mercilus led the nation in sacks last year. This guy was highly touted coming out of college. I still don't know how he fell all the way down to 26. Guys like him go in the top 15.

Mike Greenberg is saying right now on ESPN2's Mike and Mike in the morning that he believes the Houston Texans are the best team in football entering this season. He says they're definitely the best team in the AFC and a sexy pick to reach Super Bowl 47. I hope he doesn't jinx us. LOL

The Texans still have a lot to prove. The new look right side of the offensive line has got to perform at the same high level that Mike Brisiel and Eric Winston displayed last year. I'm confident in Antoine Caldwell at Right Guard, but Derek Newton won the starting job at Right Tackle over Rashad Butler and that was a huge surprise to many. I have not seen Derek Newton play that closely. I'll have a better opinion of him 4 or 5 games deep into the season.

Other than that, the Texans do not have many weaknesses or concerns other than they need to keep their best players healthy on both sides of the balll. I'd argue that QB depth is a problem if Schaub were to go down again, because I'm not totally sold on Yates being able to lead this team to the Super Bowl. I knew we were fucked going into that Ravens playoff game back in January with Yates but the defense nearly pulled that game out. Keeping Matt Schaub healthy all 16 regular-season games and every playoff game is the key to any talk of the Texans reaching the Super Bowl.

It kind of sucks that Schaub has yet to start in a playoff game (0-0). Until he does (wins a Super Bowl), he'll always be in that second tier QB list (not elite). You can maybe rest him the final game or two if the Texans lock up the 1st or 2nd seed in the AFC early on. They play Dwight Freeney and the Colts in two of their final three games this season. Those two division games may not have much meaning unless they still are fighting for home field advantage.

If he picks you guys to win the Super Bowl, you guys are fucked lol. Whoever he picks to win it all, he always puts the Greeny jinx on them. It never fails lol
