Former Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta, who is a close friend of Flacco, said one of the reasons why Baltimore's offense has struggled is philosophy. He believes the offense can't keep playing conservative football and rely on its defense to win games.
"Right now, Joe has one read and then he's got to check it down if it's not there," Pitta told WBAL Radio in Baltimore. "That's really the offense they have set up for him. It's difficult to play quarterback under those circumstances."

I have no reason to think that Pitta is lying about what's going on with the offense. Joe's been incredibly frustrating all year. His mechanics are obviously still horrible and its hard to think that will ever change at this point, but his weapons outside of Maclin and Watson have been trash all year and the coaching staff is basically taking away the one thing he's really good at. They gave him all of that money just for Harbaugh to neuter him. I would be willing to give him one more year (mostly because of his cap hit) to see if he can return to his 2014 form without this coaching staff.
I think it's amazing how bad Ozzie (& at some point Decosta has to start taking some of the blame too) and the scouting staff have been at finding receivers. I really didn't think I would miss having Torrey this much after he left. At least he could draw DPI. Everyone knew what Perriman was coming out of UCF, but I thought he would at least be able to average ~400-500 yards a season. It's hard to think of a worse starting WR in the last decade.
Thanks for the donation btw
At least Marlon Humphrey's good
