thoughts on bell?

conner/ridley could be studs in pittsburgh

conner already proved he can play well

At this point, we need to just move on from him. He's delusional for thinking he should be paid the combined salary of a WR1 + RB1. That's not how the cap works. I was really hoping we'd go get a guy like Dion Lewis in FA or draft a RB in the early rounds (Michel/Guice/Chubb). That way we'd have a solid backup plan. Instead we hamstrung ourselves by relying on Conner (coming off of injury), Ridley (hasn't produced in years), and Touissant (career roster bubble guy). We added Samuels, but I don't see him as a workhorse back.

We would be INSANE to pay bell over 14 mill annually unless none of it is guaranteed. 3 of the final 4 teams in the playoffs last year used committee approaches at RB and paid their committees less $ than bell wants by himself. His production has declined in each of the past 2 years. He's getting older and has taken a massive workload which wears rbs down.

Would love to see us make a play to get mychal Hendricks. I'm sure they can find some way to make the cap room to make it work. He'd be a significant upgrade at ILb over our current guys, none of whom are legit starting calibur.

I doubt we'll even try though...status quo as always when it comes to FA acquisitions.

Retired NFL linebacker James Harrison believes that Bill Belichick is a better coach than Mike Tomlin.

Speaking Thursday on Undisputed on Fox Sports 1, the five-time Pro Bowler said he appreciated the discipline and regimen that Belichick brings to the New England Patriots, while he believes Tomlin, the Pittsburgh Steelers coach, could be "more consistent across the board with everyone."

"Mike Tomlin's good as a head coach," said Harrison, who split time with the Steelers and Patriots last season. "He's a player's coach. I think he needs to be a little bit more disciplined.

"The big thing with Belichick is he's very regimented, he's disciplined. Everyone is going to be on the same page. It's not going to be anything as far as someone doing their own thing."

poor Tomlin.
