Your boy Leon Jacobs looks like he's going to be our day 1 starter at SLB. Not bad for a 7th round pick.

One of the unsung heroes of an incredibly stout defense. I honestly didn't think he would be drafted but I'm excited he's getting a shot. UW pumping out prospects under the radar 😎

He was sharing reps at SLB with Blair Brown for all of the offseason/minicamps/OTAs. Soon as training camp started, Jacobs has been working with the first team and hasn't looked back. He started the first preseason game with the 1s and definitely flashed multiple times.

The SLB only plays about 30-35% of the snaps in our scheme, since we're in Nickle so much, but it's absolutely his job to lose. He looked good in the snaps he got during the first ps game. Myles Jack and Telvin Smith have said nothing but great things about him. Obviously they aren't going to shit on him, but Jack (who only played SLB his rookie season) said that Jacobs is already WAY ahead of where he was at this point, during his rookie year

Jacobs is going to be a fun player to watch throughout this Preseason without a doubt.

Can Gilbert become a reliable option at OLB?
Fun to see the defense make some impact plays, including old man Tramon and young man Jackson

Lot of highlights for sure, but it still was very reminiscent of the last few years on D watching Conner tear through wide open holes for the few drives he was in. Love seeing the opportunistic side of the defense, which we might have to settle for if the injury bug hits the LB corps again. Offense is still great, but special teams and defense will prevent us from getting far in the postseason.
