Browns full rebuild mode

To be completely honest. What the Browns are doing right now, looks a whole lot like what my Jags did in 2013, when we got a whole new front office/coaching staff. They came in and blew it all up. Got rid of a bunch of players and started from scratch. That's the correct way to do it, except the Browns actually had some talent, compared to what our 2013 roster was, so it made blowing it all up a little easier. Our 2013 roster, before new management came in, was basically at an expansion level as far as the talent level.

The whole thing though, is they have to be very patient and build it through the draft. Browns fans think it's bad now (and it is), but it's only going to continue too get worse for them over the next 2 years. It's going to get very, very ugly in Cleveland. Hopefully they'll have the patience to do it, as well as the right people in house.

Browns have a fairly solid roster to build around in all honesty. They have some solid players on defense and Barnridge/Benjamin can put up yards. Put a QB in there, an RB, and some help on the OL + new offensive scheme and you might have yourself a team faster than you think. They just have to be patient, continue investing in long-term talent (OL/DL/LB) and wait for the right QB to come along.

If you want an example of how not to rebuild, see the Raiders recent history.

Yeah I agree.

They let go of a lot of pieces that they could have built off of over the past few years.

Like Hoyer last off season and Benjamin this off-season. Two players that looked like they actually wanted to be there and they got shipped out

An example of how not to rebuild, see the Raiders and Jags, pre 2013.

Agreed though, Browns had some solid talent on that team, but they lost a chunk of it this FA. They lost Benjamin I believe. Alex Mack, Gipson, their RT (can't think of his name off the top of my head), a key STer (can't think of his name either) and are most likely going to ship off Thomas.

They got Haden still. Mingo is a bust.

Honestly with what they're doing I wouldn't be that surprised to see Haden go if they're willing to trade JT.

They got that guy who rebuilt that one baseball team from the ground up right?

(Forgive me I know nothing about baseball, so didn't pay attention to who they brought in much)
