Kaufusi is raw. I guess they are hoping he develops, since as he is now, he's surprisingly soft for someone of his size.

He is. He's relies more on technique than physical skills and effort than Ziggy did/does.
He has amazing work ethic and will reach his ceiling pretty quickly being a coach's son.
He won't get crazy sack numbers, but will be effective containing the edge and on far side pursuit.

I don't like that he's an older player too :/

His intellect/ football savy is really his biggest strength. They could play him anywhere in the front 7 really. What was the Ravens' biggest need there?
He played on the edge mostly @ BYU both standing up and in a 3 point. I could see a team reaching for him to fill a role needing a bit of adjustment.

We need a 3-4 end or two.

We will be playing a lot more 4-3 next year supposedly. Need all of the DE depth we can get, since right now we've got Carl Davis (more of a 3-tech), Urban who can't stay healthy, Lewis-Moore who can't stay healthy, Bilukidi (3 tech). None of those guys really have the length we want at DE, except Urban, who can't stay healthy.

/guess I'm forgetting Suggs. And Doom played DE in Denver on pass downs

Huh, that's interesting. Hadn't heard that. I mean the Ravens have always run a sort of hybrid through recent years, but we were/are much more of a 3-4 team.

But yeah regardless we need depth on the D-Line.

I would be fucking ecstatic if we drafted Billings. We don't need a Nose Tackle, but I think he's explosive enough to play end and get after the passer. Can you imagine B-Will next to Billings and Carl Davis?

We're still going to be a hybrid defense, but my understanding is that we will be more of a 4-3 team now.

I can't remember the precise explanation, but the tl;dr of it was that we recently hired coaches who have a background in running a 4-3
