Well from what I read is that Chicago did match it instantly yes, but they never finalized it until a week or so later which tied up our money

But like I said it was an unofficial source so I’m not exactly sure how reputable the information is

I can do without Matthews, he’s a washed up receiver that never really did anything, but at the same time he was on a shitty Philly offense (up until last year of course)

He’s been in the league for like 4 years

I'd have to fact check myself but if memory serves that doesn't actually matter. Once they officially match the offer, he can't sign with anybody else unless that offer is beat. So he could have held for a few days to ask around if anybody was willing to go higher, but GB's money wouldn't be on hold because of that.
