NFL front offices used Smokescreen!

Suggs became confused.

Suggs fainted.

I still remember our GM saying that after breaking down the QBs in the 2014 draft, Manziel was the most pro ready and ready to play from day 1... LMAO.

Fast forward about 2 months from those statements, Bortles taken #3 overall lmao. Easily the biggest smoke Caldwell has thrown, in what's going on his 4th draft.

So many people were jumping on the Manziel to Jags bangwagon after he made those comments.

The difference there is that Manziel never had any medical issues.

If the Ravens medical staff saw him and said there's nothing to worry about, I would stick by it. As it is, though, I like to stay far away from injuries.

LOL. That's what nearly every draft pick is at that point. Are you kidding? The entire draft itself is a giant gamble, essentially. Your scouts do as much as they can and you bring players in but who the fuck knows what's going to happen. You cannot honestly think that it is a legitimate claim at this point in the offseason. If it were a real issue, it would have been addressed ages ago. It's like a smear campaign being run against an opposing politician. You're trying to sway the odds in your favor by bending the truth.

Exactly.

Classic case, look at Jaylon Smith in this draft. They were talking about nerve damage issues since the medical checks at the combine. They're still talking about the nerves because it's a real issue.

From what has been seen, Jaylon Smith is having a foot-drop issue. His nerves aren't healing and he literally can't raise his own foot. From what I've read, he's using a device that raises his foot for him.

It's a terrible shame what has happened to Smith. He went from what would have been a top 5 and sure fire top 10 pick, to possibly a mid-round hope/flyer pick. Just like Lattimore was a few years ago for the 49ers, yet he never even got to touch the field again after his injury.

I wish I cared enough to pull up all the lengthy injuries of the starters on your team before they were drafted. You'd be surprised. Lacy had screws in his foot which scared many but really hasn't made any difference. You think the Jags took Fowler Jr. and expected him to get hurt an hour into rookie minicamp? Anyone who has played more than a few years of football has sustained injuries. That's just the nature of the game. The degree of injury varies but medicine and the human body are at their best when the body is in that 24-30 "prime". Unless the dude is tearing ACLs repeatedly or has suffered a half dozen concussions, you're probably going to be fine.

The whole point I was making was that GMs and people in front offices will blatantly lie about things. They'll bring in players on private workouts, that they have zero interest in drafting. They wont even meet, or have a workout with guys they plan on drafting the whole time. This time of the season is one huge game of chess.

All I know is that if you guys take Jack, and his knee implodes in the next couple years, you will never hear the end of it from me. The shade thrown will be legendary.

In all seriousness though, the options for the Ravens @ #6 will be plentiful, and I'd rather take any of the other blue chip prospects over someone with POSSIBLE knee concerns.
