Jenkins wont play next year without a new contract
Says he's top tier 🤣🤣
He's definitely one of the better players at his position in the league, not top 3 All-Pro status (he was once there) but certainly among the top 10 so he has a fair argument because his salary is low compared to his level of play and reliability, but with his age (32) ehhhh that's going to be interesting. His versatility and durability make him very valuable, he has played 100% of the Eagles snaps the last two seasons. He has played seasons (I believe 2017 or 2018) where 42% of his snaps were actually at linebacker. He can cover, he's a great tackler, and he can step up into the box as I mentioned and be versatile enough to play LB. He's also a very good leader.
I'll always have love for Malcolm because the Eagles had such a glaring hole at safety after Dawkins that they couldn't fill, and Jenkins has done a great job filling that. He hasn't replaced Dawkins at that same level obviously, but he is about the closest thing to replacing him that we could get (similar versatility too as Dawkins was known for playing the box like a linebacker).
