Seeing a lot of things recently connecting us with Eric Weddle. Early in the off season I had hoped we would sign him, but I think I've changed my mind. Will Hill is an obvious stud at SS, and I think Webb's move to FS is dynamite. I think it will be his career revival.

Signing Weddle at FS would cost a lot of money, and I just don't think he would be much of an upgrade at FS. With Jimmy and others taking pay cuts, I think the FA the Ravens do sign will be important, butI just don't think FS is the right position to splurge on.

Ehh, what do I know. Can't be upset about signing a player of his quality. Plus it will be fun to see him clown around with Triple S.

It does create sort of an interesting log jam at the position, though. We now have three starters for two spots. My guess is that Weddle plays every down, and L-Webb and Will Hill split time, with Webb taking slot duties.

TBH the thing I'm most excited about it Weddle's ability to whip the rest of the secondary into shape and get everyone lined up properly. He's a field general on the back end, and boy could we use that.
