I think I would too, but being realistic, I think there is little chance we sign him because of the above issue, and because of the fact we'd probably be bidding against several other teams with more cap space. I just doubt Oz wants him more than all other teams.
Also we dropped from #3 or #4 to #8 overall pick with Sunday's win. I keep telling myself you can't put a price on potentially knocking the Steelers out of the playoffs by sweeping them on the year, but that drop could really hurt down the line if we miss out on a good talent. Hopefully Ogbah, Ramsey, or VH3 are still there in that range.
Definitely agree that it'll be a bidding war for Weddle and Ozzie never does that. My hope is maybe people will think Weddle is on the back end of his career. Safety is an athletic position and that's the first thing to go.
With the draft, it is what it is. Drafting is such a fucking crapshoot I don't really think it matters. If the top of the draft always had the most NFL potential, perennial top five pickers wouldn't be perennial top five pick teams. Plus, the difference between five and eight isn't that much.
Fucking over the Steelers is an absolute. I think I'm ok with that.
