I could give two shits what any of you think/believe. You need to field a good team to be a good team. The Patriots weren't a good team last year and QB was pretty far down on the list for reasons why I don't care what the stats were. Proof is in the pudding, puddin'. Tom Brady left because he knew that offense was shit. Bill Belichick upgraded Every. Single. Position. on that offense in 2021 and still brought Cam Newton back. Why would he do that if he thought Cam failed the team, or like you put it "couldn't hit the broadside of two barns!!!!" If they were just a Qb away from being a good team, Cam wouldn't be on the roster and all of the guys that just got replaced would still be there. You guys don't make any sense lmfao.
Literally no one has argued that they’re a complete team or that a QB is their only need. You being too stupid to understand how making a point works, certainly helps to explain why you’re hyping up a QB who averaged 177 passing yards + .5 TDs per game.
While you’re probably trolling, since I doubt any rando multi coming here starting shit is actually this dumb, I’ll try one last time to dumb this down for you.
NE has generally cheaped out on offensive skill positions, they’ve managed to get by with some creative repurposing and tactics, which allowed NE to get a lot out of underperforming and unknown assets (Edelman being the most recent example). In fact, the lack of weapons and BB being unwilling to acquire weapons + accept input from players were two of the reasons Brady left (good for him btw, I’m incredibly happy for the guy). With that in mind, what was NE’s record in 2019? Did they make the playoffs? Did they go under .500 even though the roster was weak? No, the team relied heavily on the defense (which remained strong), and they won the division and made the playoffs, as per usual.
I’m not going to bother with this conversation anymore, but if you’re not trolling (which I really fucking hope you are), I implore you to go back and watch some of the games from last year. Cam was a bad QB last year, he held the team back severely, and NE undoubtedly would have made the playoffs with Brady, and gone over .500 with a QB who performed in the middle statistically.
E: inb4 he brings up Newton’s almost entirely garbage time running stats that hurt the team far more than they helped after week 4.
