Cal Poly SLO

Word on the street is that Rodger Saffold will be playing left guard, our weakest OL position, where our previous G (Nix) was the worst in the NFL by a big stretch. So we really need a left tackle now.

Matthews and Robinson looking like pretty good picks from here.

The Raiders made the offensive line a priority in the early hours of free agency, adding their second lineman in the part of Austin Howard Tuesday, according to ESPN.com.

Howard spent most of three years with the Jets, emerging as a starter over the last two seasons and earning himself a $30 million deal from the Raiders over five years, with $15 million in guaranteed money. Howard will likely start at right tackle for the Raiders, the position he filled in New York.

More details here: http://nfltraderumors.co/report-raiders-have-an-agreement-in-place-with-rt-austin-howard/

Looks like we're either shifting one of our RTs over to LT or trusting Menelik Watson to step up following a disappointing rookie campaign. We'll see how this plays out, but so far 2 new OL is a good start. Signs are pointing to drafting a QB, however, unless we land Vick. There are 4 QBs left in FA: Vick, Freeman, McCown, and Kolb. I doubt McCown would come back--we had him for a few years and he went nowhere. I'd love to see Vick in our colors for a season or two, if only because it would mean we don't take Manziel.

But, coach wants a playmaker and we're picking up OL and likely will target a WR...the stars seem to be aligning for a terrible pick in the draft :/

Who knows, maybe we'll go DE on Barr/Clowney, we released 3 DL already and so now that's a position of need.
