There's as much a point to it as any other piece of memorabilia.

It is just a personal opinion, i could see buying one just to say you did, but if you've been to the stadium recently you might think twice before you give them MORE money, Ive worked across the street the last few years and it just seems like they add and add to it, i love my packers but its still a corporation to me, and im poor and not giving them more money

I absolutely understand somebody not wanting to purchase it. It's a lot of money to spend on any type of memorabilia. That said, it's a better way to spend the money than I normally would. And it's probably my favorite piece, rivaled only by the Yogi autographed baseball and 2000 Packers plaque I've got.

Player talk...

Wells: Seems he wants more money than I think we ought to give him. I obviously really want him to stay, but not for top5 money even if he is that good.
Finley: Would like to keep him. Do we have the flexibility to offer him a long-term deal? I'm not sure. He also seems like the kind of guy that might ask for more money than I think we ought to pay him. If he goes FA, does he demand WR dollars?
Driver: I love him. Wanted him to retire. I think he needs to be cut though.
Clifton: Same deal. Not worth the 5 or 6 games a year you can count on him to participate in. Not even close.
Flynn: So hard not to advocate a franchise move with the shortage of quarterbacks available and the potential market for him. Especially with Miami being one of those market teams and their new HC being GB's old OC, who knows Flynn better than anyone. But probably a pipe dream. Have fun in free agency.
Free agents: Tyvon Branch, Manny Lawson, Jerry Hughes... all guys I would like looked at, but Ted is allergic to free agents, so we'll see if he does anything at all. Unlikely.
Draft: Potentially another BPA year. Probably Perry or Brockers if he's there... plz sum Upshaw

Adding small pieces is nothing they have money for that... This is a 143 million dollar addition. They don't have that money just lying around

I agree with the driver thing totally.

Personally, moves I am seeing the pack doing is asking Clifton and Driver to retire (maybe resign driver to a little contract and see if tori gurley is better) but if neither do well enough in camp I can see both of them being cut. (Cliffy and Driver)
I see franchise tag on Finley at 5.4m which isn't bad at all, obviously they need to get a deal DONE with him so they don't have to franchise tag him.

Bring Wells and Finley back on good contracts.
Driver should retire, but may land with another team.
Clifton retire
Flynn FA gonzo

Who was the last notable FA the Pack went out and got? Woodson right? Before that Why does Andre Rison come to mind...or was that a trade?
Draft Defensive pass rush help 1st, BPA after that.

Well Finley is signed.
And as someone actually from the GB area, we do not want Driver gone. He brings so much more to this area than being a football player. He has said he is willing to take less money. I hope he stays for another year then calls it a career.

Just read a mock draft. Pack take C Konz from Wisconson and say buh bye to Wells. Any Wisconsonites know about this guy? Good enough to slide right in the starting role?

Clifton and Driver are to make 5m next year :/ and so is picket. Possible chance all 3 of them getting cut. But driver is going to need to take a HUGE pay cut to stay on the team. I know he's done it for years but his time is nearly up and keeping old players just loses out opportunity on young players. I think gurley will make the team and driver will end up getting cut if he doesn't retire. Don't get me wrong, I've loved driver and he's made MANY MANY crazy plays for the packers its just time to let him go.

He will probably accept near league minimum to stay around, and like I said, unless you are from the area you have no idea the impact hes had and the love for this guy that people have around here.
