C David Baas has restructured his contract

dropping his 2012 salary from $3M to $900K. The remaining $2.1M is probably converted to a bonus

Confirming: TE Martellus Bennett on his way here for a visit. Team has identified him as their top target. This could get done quickly.

CB Justin Tryon's deal with the Giants is for one year. It's a good bet Michael Coe's deal is the same. #NYG

Man we are losing players left and right on this team...... the downside to winning a super bowl......

Rio, Tollefson, Ross, possibly T2, we lost Jacobs, Blackburn, Devin Thomas.. list goes on

Tollefson was a great locker room guy & a great ST player. He was good depth on our D-line... to see him go sucks

If we lose both T2 & Ross that's going to hurt... I'm hoping we can work out a 1-2 year contract with T2

i dont give shit if we dont make playoff next year, or suck big time i'm still damn happy that we won another superbowl

i'm kinda hoping for them to not make playoff so we can get some decent spot in drafts and be prepared for next few years

Terrell Thomas signs "prove it deal" - contract essentially 1 year, $2 mil with option in 2013

The breakdown of Thomas' deal per rumblings was: $1m SB, $1m base salary and $2.75m on 70-pct playtime this season. Waiting on confirm. #nyg

Garafolo says Thomas is embellishing about said $11M guaranteed

I haven't forgotten you on the Thomas contract numbers. Though he claims he received $11 million guaranteed, word going around is the actual guarantee is not nearly as much. I'm waiting on the official numbers so I know for sure before throwing anything out there. I'll keep you posted. It could take a few days before everything is in the system.

Thomas Says His Presence Will Push Rolle Back to Safety

"We are a lot stronger," Thomas said of the Giants' defense. "Obviously (cornerback Aaron Ross) is still up in the air so we lose a veteran player that can contribute so much to the defense so hopefully we can get him back. I can't wait to contribute and get back in that nickel spot and push Antrel back to his true safety spot and everybody can just feel comfortable again and nobody is out of position."

T2 contract base is $17m over 4 years, Option bonus next year is $6m not $11m

In-depth details of the contract below"

http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2012/03/giants%5Fcornerback%5Fterrell%5Fthom%5F1.html?utm%5Fsource=twitterfeed&utm%5Fmedium=twitter&utm%5Fterm=nyg

Let's take a look at the deal year by year:

2012
Base salary: $1 million
Roster bonus (four games on the 53-man roster): $250,000
Roster bonus ($46,875 per game active): $750,000
Playing time/interception incentives: $1.75 million

2013
Option bonus: $6 million
Base salary: $750,000 (skill/injury guaranteed if the option is picked up)
Roster bonus (if he plays 70 percent of snaps in 2012 and is on the roster the 10th day of the 2013 league year): $1.5 million
Roster bonus ($46,875 per game active): $750,000
Playing-time incentives: $2.25 million

2014
Base salary: $3.8 million ($2.75 million guaranteed if option exercised)
Roster bonus ($31,250 per game active): $500,000
Workout bonus: $50,000
Playing-time incentives: $1.5 million

2015
Base salary: $4.75 million
Roster bonus ($15,625 per game active): $250,000
Workout bonus: $50,000
Playing-time incentives: $1.5 million

Cap numbers
2012: $2 million
2013: $3m
2014: $6.1m
2015: $7.05m
*
Those cap numbers aren't set in stone. This is a relatively complex deal, as opposed to some of the ones I've broken down before. The reason for the disparity between the $28 million and the $17.4 million that the NFLPA recognizes right now is due to all of the incentives in there. They're relatively easy for Thomas to earn - if healthy - which is why he's looking at the bigger numbers here.

Those incentives not currently counted by the union in the base value of the deal are $3.25 million in roster bonuses plus $7 million in those playing-time and interception incentives.

So where does the true value of the deal lie? Well, that all depends on how his knee responds and what he's able to earn over the next four years. It could be as low as $1 million or it could get over $20 million easily.

One thing that still stands up after all of the back and forth today: it's a very good deal for both sides.
