Apparently the Ravens are interested in Merriman.

Quote
SAN DIEGO (LALATE) – Shawne Merriman’s new home will be the Ravens or 49ers says reports. Shawne Merriman went onto injured reserve last Wednesday for a calf injury. But late today, Adam Schefter confirms “On last day he could have been cut to become a free agent, Chargers LB Shawne Merriman was not. He now will have to pass through waivers.”

SI’s Peter King believes the Ravens will pursue Merriman through waivers. Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome tells the Baltimore Sun that, since Merriman is still under contract with the Chargers, Newsome cannot confirm if he is pursuing Merriman. But the Sun and King report that the Ravens are in fact interested if Merriman passes a physical and the right salary is set.

At first I was against the deal, but then i remembered 3 things.
1. He's only 26, he's still pretty young.
2. If he's cheap, he'd be a great addition since JJ hasn't been that great and the pass rush isn't as good as we're used too.
3. The things the Ravens have been able to do to decent LBs (Scott, Thomas, etc.)

Low risk/high reward like Housh.

Yea I'm all aboard for bringing him in, as long as he can produce.

It looks like Reed, Ayanbadejo and Stallworth are all back at practice.

Very good news.
