Elam might have torn his bicep, it's probably over. I was hoping this year would be his year. He should've been so much better than he was.
Uhh, what are you basing your opinion on his potential on? Admittedly I watched 0 game tape of him in college (which is what Ozzie drafted him on), but for the Ravens he's been a zero instinct safety who can't tackle.
Frankly, this is the first time I've ever been happy somebody has gotten injured. 360 degree turnarounds are almost non existent in the NFL, and Elam would have just cut into Will Hill's snaps as far as I'm concerned. Admittedly, though, that 360 degree turn around did happen with Jimmy Smith. I was ready to bury him on the depth chart the entirety of his first two years until the SB, and he proved me wrong in a big way.
Still though, even if Elam pans out (or would have panned out), I think Will Hill is still a way better safety (he has an all-pro ceiling). Let's stop fucking around with his snaps now and let him grow.
