isnt that why they drafted blackmon, to be that playmaker?
all in all imo the offense would be fine if blackmon played like he did yesterday for the first 9 weeks of the year and mjd didnt act like a sour little bitch
they have the talent, underrated WR core but then u mention drops so how underrated are they, but i think they asre solid with a solid Te, 2 solid rbs to lean on....
fix the line add some playmakers on the defensive side of the ball u got yourself possibly a wildcard contender honestly.
This team is better then the 1-9 record shows.
Shorts is showing that he could turn out to be a play maker, as could Blackmon. Shorts is in his 2nd year and Blackmon a rookie. Both are still young. Shorts looked completely lost last year, after coming from a Div III Mount Union team. He looks like a completely different player this year. Rookie WRs usually struggle and Blackmon has looked worlds ahead of Shorts last year, as he should. I wasn't expecting a whole lot out of Blackmon this first year. Now that it's past the half way point, maybe the game is starting to slow down for him now. We still need a burner at WR. Somebody who can fly and stretch the field deep. Some legit 4.3 speed.
Lewis is solid at TE, could be the best blocking TE in the league, average pass catcher. He's a mismatch due to his size, but he has stone hands at times.
The OL was really banged up for the first 1/3 of the season. They had a lot of injuries and were moving guys around daily. The 5 guys have been set now for a decent stretch. They have improved. We still need some depth though.
Defense is really where we lack play makers. I think drafting Jarvis Jones would be the best move this team could make right now. We need a play maker at that position. Daryl Smith is also a FA after this season and he could very well go to a different team. Need somebody to replace him at SLB if he leaves and we need a WLB period. Session may never play again due to concussions. Poz is good at MLB.
Derek Cox is easily our best CB. Too many injuries have nagged on him though. Ross gets beat daily. Mathis is 32, lost a step and came off ACL surgery. He's been dealing with a hamstring as of late and hasn't played. Hate to say it, because he's one of my favorite players, but his time may be up. Middleton is a solid back up who can play any of the CB spots when needed and a great STer, Harris has been alright his rookie year so far. We should go after a CB at the top of the 2nd round. Should still be some pretty good ones left up there.
