I'm not disappointed with the comp. picks we got, but I am kind of puzzled why Cincinnati got a 3rd for Michael Johnson, who sucked so bad he was cut later that season.

If Gurley's still there, I would have a pretty hard time finding fault with that pick. I really want us to land whatever CB slips, but Gurley is a special talent, and if Flacco has a good running game he can kill just about anybody off play action.

I can't question who they pick as long as it isn't a reach or a position we absolutely don't need. Gurley would be BPA most likely.

The only counterargument I would have is that this draft is very deep at RB, so you can probably find a good one in the 2nd or 3rd round (JC, Bell, Jeremy Hill, and even RR were 2nd rounders). Plus they have Forsett and Taliaferro as a pretty good 1 - 2 punch, so RB is lower on our list of needs and kind of a luxury as a first round pick.

That's why I would be a little apprehensive at first (I don't think you should ever take a RB in the first, really), but Gurley is Lynch 2.0 so I'd find a way to be ok with it.

I think you're selling Gurley way short comparing him to Lynch. He is the complete package if he recovers fully from his ACL--an Adrian Peterson.

The Cougars' long-awaited pro day took place today as junior receiver Deontay Greenberry, who was not invited to the Combine, took the field. I'm told 30 of the league's teams were on hand with only the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens not in attendance.

I find this surprising and saddening. I thought Greenberry could be a great later-round pick for us.

We're paying Matt Schaub $3 million to backup Flacco, i feel like we could've invested those money a lot better.

How much is guaranteed though? That's what I want to know.

I'm hoping he doesn't make the 53 man roster over Wenning, who is receiving 400k as a backup. Like you said, I'd hate to give Schaub 3mil when Wenning can do just as good. Give that money to Jimmy and extend him.

I hope it's like a Marc Bulger thing, where they're bringing him aboard for training camp, cutting him, he retires, and then they take him out of retirement if they need him... I can dream though.
