Yeah. That probably has nothing to do with the scheme change and moving him from NT which also resulted in the lack of production on the entire line until last season.. Aka the season he missed. Damn. I normally take a lot of stock in what you write but you've been really off-base lately... Disappointing.
I don't understand what you are taking issue with. Are you disagreeing that he lacks motivation? Or are you of the mind that he is not talented? I'm actually giving him the benefit of the doubt by saying he just lacks motivation, since his performance on the field has declined every year since 2010.
In 2010 Raji played 1092 snaps, had 30 tackles, 4 missed tackles, 36 hurries, 8 sacks
In 2011 Raji played 937 snaps, had 13 tackles, 4 missed tackles, 19 hurries, 3 sacks
In 2012 Raji played 768 snaps, had 23 tackles, 4 missed tackles, 25 hurries, 0 sacks
In 2013 Raji played 666 snaps, had 17 tackles, 2 missed tackles, 10 hurries, 0 sacks
In 2014 Raji missed the year to a torn bicep
He has regressed each year since 2010, ultimately missing last season due to injury. Are you arguing that he is still a good player? It's fine if you are, but I'm going to disagree, and his play on the field is why. At this stage in his career, what is his best position? He applies too little pressure to be a DE, but he is too poor against the run to be a NT. We have a better NT in Brandon Williams, and a better DT in Timmy Jernigan. We have unproven players (rookies essentially) at DE, so maybe he could start there, but it would be a weak part of our defense nonetheless.
