Pretty happy with the contract

I agree, comes back cheap and can provide leadership in an otherwise young backfield.

I really like his 3rd down ability, since he can catch passes and recognize and pick up the blitz remarkably well for someone who is 5'8"

I still want us to draft a RB (and I want Pierce to be left off the 53 man roster), but it doesn't have to be an early pick for a RB now.

I saw that is was 3yrs for 9mil, but any word on the guaranteed $? Good price when you compare him to guys like Rashad Jennings and/or Fred Jackson--two other late-blooming RBs who had low mileage.

I seem to remember you decidedly downplaying the importance of pass blocking for RB's.

Your topic was something like "who is the best blocking RB ever," and my point was that is wasn't something you could do so well that there is a clear best ever. You can either do it or you can't.

I definitely did not underestimate the importance of blocking. If you can't block, you can't play on 3rd down, simple as that.

I'm just glad I had something slip through into long term memory.

I'd still love us to go with Gurley if he's there when we pick at #26, resigning Forsett would even allow us to let him heal up perfectly instead of just "throwing him out there".

I think a lot of those stats have to do with how well we surround players with good complementary players.

Team just works well together no matter who is on the field. Must be a good GM, idk
