Not to mention 2014 was the first year in a long time that Ngata actually stayed healthy the whole year (still missed 4 games due to suspension) and played up to his contract. He's 31; his best years are behind him. 300-pounders wear down fast.
I'll always remember the good plays (Him blowing up Mendenhall in the backfield; breaking Ben's nose), and how he gave it his all in the SB and tore his MCL (iirc), but I have been preparing myself for Ngata's release since the offseason began, so I can only be happy we actually got something for him.
