Martinez isn't doing as well as I hoped he would, but another year of injuries isn't a surprise. Also seeing Spriggs struggling is certainly worrying, hopefully bounces back after this injury. But like you said, plenty of positives within as well.

Just hope everyone gets healthy/hot at the right time. I can see the division coming down to the final game at Ford Field.

Honestly, Blake had his best all around game I thought. Got lit up a few times by blockers and when he was in coverage, but so did the rest of the defense. He was around the ball for most of the game and helped stuff the Bengals in OT on their first drive. The young kids are coming around slowly. Spriggs seemed too good to be true at the time and it shows now. Sad but that's how it goes.

Blake definitely made plays this week no doubt, just felt like he would be a bigger presence overall, not just this game.

In the end, no point in focusing on the negatives just going to take it one game at a time now.

Would be pretty awesome to meet a few buzzins there though. I know the wife will wanna go.

Is there something wrong with the training staff? I know fluke injuries happen but this is like 5 straight years of the packers losing guy after guy.

Blake Martinez had his best game on Sunday imo. Made some key tackles and blew up a few runs which isn't something we say regularly with our linebackers.

I think you're undervaluing Mike Daniels though John. As well as Clark played, there is definitely a noticeable drop in our interior pass rush/run D without him. He's one of the best DT in the game

Yes. The program GB has is awful. I forget exact details of who they brought in, but they had an outside firm redo Strength and Conditioning a few years ago and it was the healthiest year in a long time (2014 maybe?). Seems like they went right back to the old ways though.

I hope he continues and becomes consistent, but honestly no one on our defense is so just seeing glimmers of greatness gives me hope.

Let me talk with my best friend Friday to see if he was for real. Might be able to get a couple other buddies to go.

If there is, no one cares enough to do anything about it. It's been much longer than 5 years but trust me... We've all had that thought in our minds basically since just before the Super Bowl when we had 16 on IR

I agree with your entire post. Not necessarily undervaluing MD, I just think that the front 7 in general needs to step up a little more. Daniels is by far the best we have up there, and when he went down it didn't feel so bad because the entire front 7 was getting blown up. It's like having the best WR but not having anyone to get him the ball. MD makes everyone around him better and it seems like the D is slowly coming around. Potential is great, but actually getting them on the field at the same time is proving to be an issue.

Yeah, I kind of figured that's what you meant. I'd like to see Lowry take some steps forward, but he hasn't stood out to me at all really.

Hopefully big Mike is back for week 5 although I still really haven't heard much about the severity of his injury etc.

The rotation on the line is probably as weak as we've seen in recent years, but the LB group is feasting on this nitro package and the inability for o lines to pickup the blitz. This experimental extended preseason we are in ends tomorrow though as divisional play begins. Excited to get healthy and see how we stack up against the North
