Draft and develop. (Or in this case UDFA signing and develop.) there was a lot of talk about Smithson in what little camp we had, that he looked as good as Cobb. But with Driver likely leaving and Smithson spending the season on IR, it makes sense to keep him around. I mean , hell I'm excited for any WR the Packers pickup as rookies anymore. I think aside from Driver, every WR on the Packers roster, practice squad, and IR was brought in as a rookie by MM and they've all looked pretty good.

Bob McGinn put out an article today questioning TTs decision to five Hawk a monster contract, calling it the worst contract TT has ever given. He believes Hawk needs to be cut or traded, and claims that there are whispers in the GB locker room that Hawk should not be the starter. I really hate when writers quote anonymous players or sources. If you have a guy saying something, quote him. I also don't think Hawk is half as bad as he looked this year. Put a real OLB or DE out there to help the rush and Hawk will again look great. It's really unfair to blame anybody other than the DEs and OLBs lined up on the other side of Matthews.

I agree with that, however Hawk has never been great. He's just been good enough to never have his job taken over, he does what needs to be done but doesn't get fired up and hit people in the mouth or blow up plays at times. There were 3 games this year though that Hawk, I have never seen him get mad, and he just went crazy and had amazing games but the rest of the season.. I can't say he looked the greatest. But I agree with the whole anonymous, i think it's just a reporter wanting to get rid of hawk and making shit up.

If anyone needs to go to make some room would be Zombo imo. Injured all the time and hasn't been very productive for us... At least you see Hawk in on plays where's Zombo half the time? On the ground?

Can't blame him much - he had no help on his side most of the time. Bishop looked great playing next to Matthews, but how do you fault a guy who played next to what was essentially a third string guy all season with Zombo and So'oto injured? He's never been a superstar, but he definitely won't be until he gets a playmaker next to him. He did make a ridiculous play in the opener jumping over Sproles to knock the ball away. Still don't know how that got called PI.
