I really don't understand your hate with Fitzpatrick, m8. I guess you're just A LOT higher on Geno Smith than I am.

Imo jets are in a lose-lose QB situation. Dont resign fitz/start geno? Guaranteed not going to make the playoffs. Resign fitz? You'll be overpaying for a mediocre aging QB. I still think they dont have a choice they need to resign him

Fitz will also be here to develop the other guys. Geno is not part of the Jets short or long term plan IMO, I think he's widely considered around the organization as the odd man out. Hackenberg/Petty will be the Jets QB in 2-3 years after Fitz is gone.

His stats say he's by far mediocre. All he has on geno is years of experience thats it. His stats are compareable and yet geno hasnt gotten the chance to show what he can do with the new offensive core.

I like fitz as a person, hes a great leader. But he's way to flaky and as well aging and not well enough accuracy. Our reciever core bailed him out alot.

ultimately i will still believe in our fo if we do sign fitz and i would like to see where they are coming from with the decision.

This is EXACTLY why we need to sign Fitz. We have a plethora of young QBs, but they need a leader and a teacher. He is here to DEVELOP the future. Read my other post, Geno isn't the long or short term answer. Fitz is here to hopefully keep the Jets competitive while preparing a guy like Christian Hackenberg or Bryce Petty to take over the reins in 2-3 years.

Geno Smith doesn't have the respect of the team like Fitz does, him and Marshall are best friends. These things all matter for the FUTURE.
