Same here man. I'm 30 next month and I watched other guys play, but I didn't start to truly understand the game, which in turn made me fall in love with it, until I was like 12 or 13.

It's just so hard to know what the fuck is actually going on with BB and Brady. If it's a choice of either keeping a 42 yr-old quarterback, even one as amazing as Brady, or arguably the best coach in NFL history, it's hard to go with Brady. I just pray they can work out their shit, BB actually drops some cash on the offense, and we can keep this shit rolling for a little while longer. I want Brady to retire a Patriot and I'm terrified of the negative impact that axing such a devoted player could have on the do your job mentality. I mean, if even a guy like Brady is thrown out like Garbage, how much loyalty can you expect from your players?

It's a business, not a fraternity.

That's one of the most under the radar points about Brady that not a lot of people think about. Brady is the ultimate team leader and he tows the line. Every player in that locker room likes and respects him, even the backups despite what Seth Wickersham would like you to believe. Taking out that figure head makes it extremely tough to keep that culture. Whose your de facto leader if Brady is gone? If you start Stidham or bring in like a Dalton, they're not going to command even an ounce of the same respect.

I love Belichick, and I think he's a genius, but he isn't winning all of these Super Bowls without Brady.

He hasn't performed well with virtually no weapons. You can't expect much out of anyone with receivers who can't separate and a 5'10 white guy who's being doubled every game as your best out. I get it and I'm okay with them moving on if that's what they decide to do, but I'd much rather he finish out his career here. He's preached the NE way for his entire career, having him as a leader has done wonders for our franchise and I don't want him to walk with bad blood between him and BB/Kraft, it's just not worth it imo. We'll see what happens, but we should find his replacement ASAP and let him sit behind Brady for a year or two. There's no harm in allowing someone to mature while they learn behind one of the greatest to play the game, even if he's only playing subpar football at this point in his career, he still knows all the ins and outs of the position.

e: I mean, Brady doesn't care about the money. If we give him another two years he'll be fucking ecstatic and if he really does fall off a cliff, I believe he'll have enough sense to step down and let someone else take over. Right now, we don't have any other options even half as good as a 42 year-old Brady lol, so fuck it, why can him when we still don't have his replacement?

You know what never gets enough talk, is that Belichick got absolutely worked in the Jimmy G trade, and then made it even worse. It's one thing to only move a guy perceived as the second coming for only a 2nd, it's another to turn that 2nd pick into 7 players, none of which have started a game for the Patriots. Then on top of that the Browns had a better on the table but were declined days before the trade.

Only bringing this up because I saw that the 2nd we got had been traded back a bunch into 7 players who are trash.

Quantity over quality is the BB way man. Bring them in cheap, hope they develop, ship them the fuck out if they don't. We rarely go for the flashy/big money players and it's worked pretty well for us. That being said, you're going to have some bad fucking moves when you're always bringing in a bunch of nobodies, eventually you'll get a crop like what happened here with the Jimmy trade. As good as he is, he's not going to pull some magic out of his ass on every trade.

I'm sick of waiting already, I just want to know WTF is going on with this team and what our plan is for next year. Anyone know how deep this draft is at QB? I don't follow college much, but I know there are some strong options early on. Is there any viable talent at a spot we could reach though? I don't see BB jumping up a bunch of picks to grab a QB regardless, but what do you guys think? If Brady is gone, do you think he pulls the trigger and takes a chance on a high-cost QB to win now with our D, or do you think he moves forward with Stidham or a later pick?
