Aren't you one of those tinfoil hat people that thinks the league is rigged? Seems like you'd at least grasp the importance of marketability giving that theory, but then again, logic and tinfoil seldom go hand in hand.

Performance on the field and winning are the only thing that matters, period.
Not once has anybody ever just watched their team lose, but said something like, "well we just got our ass beat and embarrassed by 21 points, but at least our QB gives a good post game interview  "....
You know why? Because nobody really gives a fuck about that, only the wins/loses.
How about jersey sales? The current report (Q2 2020) from the NFLPA might beg to differ that wins are all that matter:
3. Baker Mayfield
11. Mitch Trubisky
14. Sam Darnold
Of the 1,696 active NFL players, the top 50 in jersey sales represents 2.9% of the league. We have arguably 3 of the worst or “least good” starting QBs in the top 0.8% of jersey sales.
However, as a counter argument, Tom Brady is #1 (still) in jersey sales. So, consider that for a moment. Maybe winning is all that matters. Maybe being cool is what really matters. Perhaps it is strictly based on talent or flash. Or maybe people just buy jerseys of their favorite players, regardless of how articulate, successful, or sexy they are.
Don’t really know where I’m trying to go with this lol. Anyways, I bet Minshew will be top-10 once Q3 reports are released.
But yea, nice poop read at the very least
