I love looking at college WRs, but I need to start taking notice of which CB I want in this coming draft.

With Jimmy out, we don't have a single starting-caliber CB on our roster. Really the whole defensive backfield is garbage, seems like there's a missed tackle of every play where they're involved.

I have the biggest hard on for Dorial Green-Beckham, his upside is huge and could be a steal in round 3-4, but indeed our first round pick has CB written all over it.
Just looked through the list of CB free agents after this season, nothing flashy really (at least considering that we're never going to sign one of the big money CBs).

you never know who may get cut (Revis will be released after this year unless the Pats want to pay $20 mil lol), but likely any FA will be nothing more than a stop-gap at CB

Cromartie, Chris Harris and Flowers all FAs too, but yea most likely just stop-gapping.

I have literally no idea which CBs coming out in this draft are good ..

Michigan State's Trae Waynes is my favorite that I've watched, but might go too high. Who the hell knows, prospects will rise and fall like crazy from now until then.

Division isn't lost. Bengals have looked pretty average, barely beating the Jags today. Steelers are looking good. Browns haven't beaten anyone good. All we can do is win our games, starting with this coming home game vs the Titans--a team we should beat. Then there's a bye, and then HOPEFULLY Jimmy is back for the Saints

I'm more concerned with the completely blown coverages frankly (pun definitely and painfully intended). I could live with shitty tackling if we were actually, you know, in the right area of the field....

Franks isn't good enough to play in the CFL, Darian Stewart isn't far behind him, L-Webb has either fallen off or is pressing to much to make plays, and Elam is infuriating. Every once in a while he flashes something (usually playing in the box, he had like 2x 1/2 sacks today I think?), but then he'll totally blow a coverage that an All-American SEC Safety should NEVER EVER miss.

I honestly think Elam would be a better linebacker. Too bad he isn't about 40 pounds heavier and three or four inches taller.

Ideally, most teams have enough talent at CB to where they don't have a guy like Franks or Chykie on their roster, but we're dealing with injuries at a position that was thin before the season even began.

Elam was a knee-targeting shoulder tackler in college. He doesn't wrap up, and he can't cover, so he's pretty useless. Darian Stewart is exactly as bad as he looked with the Rams, so you had to expect this. Not sure why they still use him.

Webb seems to be done after tearing that 2nd ACL a couple years ago. Ozzie gave a big contract to a CB who was injury-prone even before his breakout season; Ozzie gambled that he would stay healthy, and he lost.

There isn't a DC in the league who could make this defense look good. I hate Pees' off-man coverage, but this secondary is simply devoid of talent.

Our season is toast if something doesn't change. We should have signed Champ Bailey. There's absolutely no fucking way he would be worse than what we have.

Champ was done. There just wasn't/isn't a FA CB who could help our secondary.

The only silver lining is that we have the Titans and then a BYE. After that, maybe/hopefully jimmy returns.

Champ couldn't run anymore was the deal right? He could still be an upgrade at safety. IMO anyway.

I'm seriously depressed with the situation on the back end. No FA's, no trade possibilities that I can see anyway (although I'm not very good at league wide personnel), nobody on our roster that has any kind of potential they could work their way into.

Our front seven is awesome, but they can't maintain a pash rush into the fourth if QB's can just throw quick passes on our DB's all day. Shit is depressing, and it isn't fair to our Line/LB's.
