What candidate is out there right now that would be better than MM?

There isn't one

I'm not necessarily saying we move on from him, or that there would be a better candidate, but a change of personnel is definitely something we would benefit from. More so with DC, GM.

I don't think there's a Packers fan out there that would be upset about letting Capers go. I agree that bringing in some new faces could benefit the Packers and that going from TT to Wolf would be a great move, but I don't want to force TT out. Let him go when he's ready, I just hope he's ready soon. Like chemo said, I don't want to ruin the cap to make a good defense, but let's spend a little.

Lang's market value according to SpoTrac is about $8.4 million ($3.2 mil over current deal)
Perry is about $8.5 (~$3 mil over current deal)
Cook is about $3.3 (~$0.55 mil over current deal)
Hyde is unlisted, but given that Burnett makes a shade over $6 million, I feel like ~$5 mil is reasonable
Lacy is about $5.1 (~$4.3 mil over current deal)

The rest I don't really care that much about. I'd like to retain Tretter or Lang, not both, and I don't really care which. Tretter's estimated market value is actually higher than Lang's. Not sure how much I believe that, but I did think they'd be pretty close.

If we only re-sign Lang or Tretter, Perry, Cook, Hyde and Lacy and maintain a cushion of $8-10 million dollars as Ted always does, we're probably looking at $8-10 million dollars to re-sign any of the rest of Peppers, Datone, Barclay, Thomas, etc. if we want them in addition to rookies and free agents and contract escalations.

So yeah, according to my craptastic, dunnowtfI'mtalkingabout maths, we'll probably end up with about $5 million to SPLURRRRRRGGGEEEEE on free agency, assuming the old and broken farts retire and we retain the better half of our free agents.

We can always fuck with Clay a little bit or a lotta bit to free up some chedda too. Idgaf.
