2013 season: The Oakland Raiders essentially thought Robinson (Oklahoma State) beat out seventh-round draft pick David Bass (Missouri Western State) for the team’s final defensive end spot on the roster as Bass was cut. But while Bass surfaced with the Chicago Bears and played in 12 games, starting one, and had a sack with 23 tackles and an interception, Robinson appeared in 12 games for the Raiders and had two solo tackles with a pass defensed.

Looking ahead: The Raiders need production out of their pass rush and Robinson did not exactly provide that, granted, in relatively limited opportunities. Prototypical edge rusher is one of Oakland’s many needs in free agency and the draft, and the Raiders have vowed to upgrade the position, so it will be tough for Robinson to maintain his standing as the backup right defensive end.

The Raiders’ other 2013 rookies that finished the season on the roster: S Shelton Johnson, CB Chance Casey, WR Greg Jenkins, G Lamar Mady, QB Matt McGloin, WR Brice Butler, DT Stacy McGee, TE Mychal Rivera, RB Latavius Murray, TE Nick Kasa, LB Sio Moore, OT Menelik Watson, CB D.J. Hayden.

yea he looks good in that vid but i guess so does everyone in their own highlight reel. heres a wikipedia link about him, didnt know he was alrdy on a couple other NFL rosters at one point but didnt stay for long. hopefully he changes that with Oakland!!

looks like he missed a few games last year though idk why. hopefully it wasnt an injury or a serious one at least, thats the last thing we need is another injury prone RB.. CFL stats at bottom of the page.

Well if he's from the CFL he's probably cheap, if he's injured all the time it's not a 6 million dollar loss.

I'm really not sure if we should go after a QB or not in the draft. But improving our line and our defense is something I think we can accomplish this off season, so we should prioritize it.

yea thats the same thing i was thinking. hes cheap labor so if he can produce even a little its still a good deal imo. it would be good if he came out ballin. i hope jennings stays and both of them can have good years. i can only hope.

OL/DB/WR are the #1's for me IMO. I might be okay with Bridgewater if he falls but other than that nn a running QB, we have Pryor if we want to develop a hybrid threat, and he's shown some promise, even throwing. In our current state, we're not set up to get a young QB and develop them because we have weak pass protection and no #1 WR. Streeter is a great target, Holmes is a respectable #3/4, and Denarius Moore is another okay #2 option, but we don't have a guy that can break it for huge gains. If we can draft a fast slot WR with a mid round pick (3-5, we should use #1 on OT or a defensive stud and #2 on CB) that should shore up our biggest offensive weakness, which was that we had no spark from anyone except Pryor. As soon as he started to stall out there was nobody to pick up the momentum, and we crashed and burned a lot.

Of course, this all depends on how good we think Watkins is going to be. If the staff sees him as the next great WR, we should definitely try to get him. Just look at how far Calvin Johnson has taken the Lions.

Between Jennings and this new guy I think we're okay for RBs. Get a 3rd stringer from somewhere and have him contribute on special teams. If we get a vet CB, vet OL, and vet WR, we go into the draft with very few critical needs and can afford to draft the best players available. But it would also mean that our first pick is 100% QB.

I'd rather get a vet QB like Matt Cassel and draft a young OL/CB/WR early in the draft and wait for a QB class that I like more to come around.
