I got to present John's dad with the Packers certificate before the Ravens game yesterday on behalf of everyone. His dad was really taken aback and appreciative, it was one of the cooler moments in my life so far.

Thanks to Fgs and everyone who contributed for letting me do the handoff.

Yeah man it was powerful, he was tearing up, I was tearing up. Crazy how life can be sometimes, I'm lucky to have this connection with him and I hope to see him occassionally in the future.

Did you ever come up with a mailing address for Christmas gifts? obviously they'll be behind considering the date and logistic issues but I don't want to see our roll stop here.

Genuinely curious. How does that conversation even go?

“Hello Mr. Wolfe. You don’t know me, but I knew your son Cheesehe- er... I mean John. We used to post together on a Mongolian basket weaving forum wherein users exchanged pixels for forum cheese.”

Like... how did you bridge the gap between Internet personality and empathy for a father losing a son IRL?

Did you even tell him your screen name is Mangina?

Is this an honest question? I think the thought, execution and delivery in John's name probably says enough for any questions in concerned to our sentiment are immediately answered. We cared enough to do something and the platform in which we interacted with John means nothing in that moment.

It’s a very honest question. No doubt what the d2jsp sports betting forum community did is a positive thing. I’m not taking anything away from that.

However, I’ve always felt cringy when internet life bleeds into IRL.

For example, I still to this day feel weird saying meme in an in person conversation.

I couldn’t imagine the amount of spaghetti coming out of my pockets trying to have this conversation with Mr. Wolfe. But that’s just me. I’m curious as to how Mangina did it and how the conversation went.

Hello Mr. Wolfe, I'm sorry about your loss, John was a friend. Myself and the community john and I shared decided that it was absolutely pertinent John be a part owner of the organization he loved.

I'm assuming something of that nature, not very difficult.
