I think Brady's return to football is probably the cause of their divorce. It's reasonable to assume they had talked about and planned extensively around Brady's retirement. Less than 50 days from Brady's retirement these plans changed dramatically when he decided to play another NFL season. If both parties in the marriage aren't in agreement about a substantial change in life plans a high degree of conflict is likely. Unsurprisingly, they're now getting divorced.
