It's more that Seattle's team as a whole is no position to compete for a playoff spot, getting Baker just doesn't make sense.
Baker is definitely one of the 32 starting QB's in the league, but the difference between him and the top 10 QB's of the league is large imo. Not much of a difference maker

I'd say he's an upgrade over lock and geno. Both of those guys are backups, baker has at least helped get a team to the playoffs, and the browns at that

Browns have been a solid overall team lately
Best rb game in the league and mayfield hasn’t been able to take advantage of that thru the air speaks volumes

he's not denying baker is an upgrade, but baker isn't going to make seattle compete. at best he wins them a few extra games which actually hinders their long term outlook, since he's not going to be the answer at QB for them when they're ready to compete in 3-5 seasons
