In the threads related to this topic, I feel like my posts have always admitted such a connection. If you wanna knock Jordan off his pedestal because Stern let him "retire for a year" rather than dragging his name through the Pete Rose mud with a suspension over gambling, then I wouldn't blame you for it. But if you let Jordan have his goat status, then you gotta give Brady the same due. Preferential treatment for stars and big market is the nature of the business. Nothing unique about the Patriots here.

As a child, I was in awe, but we all know NBA was making their power-grab at that time as the steroid age begun in the MLB and the new wave of talent that flooded in from high schools and colleges. Jazz/Bulls were as prominent as the Nets/Lakers back then because the big markets were satisfied because the Bulls/Lakers kept winning and the NBA fans were pleased because an upstart band of vets challenged them perennially.
