Ramsey is like Devin McCourty: yeah, he can play CB, but he will be an elite safety. He already has veteran instincts.
I don't think anyone is drafting Ramsey to be a CB.
How can you even be sure you're running the same defense next season? If Gus Bradley is fired, so endeth the defense.
We basically run a hybrid 4-3/3-4 already anyways, we just line up our edge rusher (Leo) on the DL, with his hand in the dirt, making it a 4 man line.
If we changed schemes and went to a full 3-4 Defense, it would be the LBs that would be a huge issue and not the DL imo. We're big up front on the DL anyways, so a switch from a 4 man DL, to a 3 man DL wouldn't be an issue.
Odrick would stay at the Big DE spot, which is a 2 gaping 5 tech, meant to stop the run. Roy Miller would stay at the Nose and 1 tech. Marks would play the role of the RDE and Fowler would be our typical edge rushing 3-4 OLB.
After that though, the other LBs would become an issue. Could Poz be a 3-4 ILB? Where would Telvin Smith fit as a 3-4 LB? He's tall and long at 6'3, but he's literally like 210 pounds playing LB. He's a freak and already one of the best young LBs in the league, but he's the perfect fit as our Will LB.
