according to you, he is not a bust and needs 3 years.    so which one is it?

I don't recall ever saying that. I've been a Geno hater from the get go and you can see that in my mocks/analysis from that year but if I were to ever say something like that, then refer to my latest statement of "Let’s stop kidding ourselves by thinking Geno is actually a capable QB." referring to any previous notions that he may develop into something worth while.

EDIT: What just happened?

No worries. And I mean he's not horrible, he's just not starter quality. He'd be a very capable backup who can come in when needed and not totally ruin your team but for a franchie QB, he's definitely not that. The moment he had his little hissy fit in the green room on draft night his fate was sealed.

I really am torn on where we could go in this draft right now. Pass rusher is the most obvious at this point, but would we take Gregory or Ray for the LEO spot? Or would we go with Williams and move him around? Both options are logical, but then you have to wonder who gets let go in place of them.

Williams could play the 5 and 3 tech for sure, probably the 1 as well. There's no way he takes the 3 away from Sen'Derrick Marks though, who is easily one of the top 3 DTs in the league right now. The 5 is manned by Big Red Bryant and he fits the role perfect. Roy Miller mans the 1 and he's having a good year. Chris Clemons and Andre Branch are our LEOs, but Branch is out at least 5 more weeks with a torn groin. Given Clemons' age, I could see him being let go if we drafted a replacement LEO.

Ziggy Hood and Tyson Alualu (although I think Alualu is in a contract year) rotate in at all the positions except the LEO. Ryan Davis is now manning Branch's LEO role, but he rushes from inside at DT when we run out our Lightning package (3 LEOs and Sen'Derrick Marks). Rookie Chris Smith got brought up from the PS to play the LEO when Branch got hurt, so he's slowly working his way into the rotation.

We rarely Blitz the QB, so most of our pressure is just from our front 4, which is one of the better fronts in the league. We're 2nd in the NFL with 25 sacks. The DL obviously isn't the problem, so it'll make for some tough decisions come draft time.

QB is off the board obviously, as WR is I'm pretty sure.

An OT makes for an interesting discussion. Do they stick with Joeckel? I'd assume so. Pasztor at RT has been solid since coming back from a broken hand. The combined average age of our OL is 23.7 years old. I don't really think they'd take a OT.

There isn't a FS, CB, LB or TE worth a top 5 pick.

Now LB is definitely an area of need. We have an up and coming stud rookie OLB in Telvin Smith. Poz is done for the year and isn't getting any younger. He's also due a bunch of money again next season. Do we draft his replacement and let him go? Do we draft his replacement and let him play behind Poz for a year? Do they really think that rookie Jeremiah George could be Poz's replacement? We need another OLB, so I could easily see us drafting 2 LB this draft.

Free agency is going to be really telling for us this year.

I think this would be an ideal draft for us to trade down, and it would be the best decision imo. Say we stay picking at #3 by seasons end. At #3, the best Pass rusher, QB or OT would still be on the board and could make for some trade bait.

I actually watched almost all of the ASU/Washington game and Marcus Peters impressed the fuck out of me. If someone were to take him top 5 I would not fault them one bit.

Just a little food for thought for your needs.

And yes I would agree. Jaguars and Raiders should try and move down. I'll try and do a trade or two next week. It just takes more time than I usually have to come up with a trade that makes sense for both sides.

It's so hard to justify taking a CB THAT high in the 1st round though. Especially considering it looks like we hit gold on one in the 7th round of the 2013 draft. Demetrius McCray has looked everything like the real deal this year. It's his 2nd year in the league and he gets better every game.

Add onto the fact that we have Aaron Colvin coming off IR, who could get some playing time this season after recovering from his ACL tear at the Senior Bowl. We got him in the 4th round, and pre injury he could have went late 1st-early 2nd.
