I think O'Brien would want to come in and be able to groom his QB right away. I think Bortles is gonna kill the individual workouts tennehill style and get taken #1.

I like this mock a lot. If AJ McCarron has a good game tonight in the Sugar Bowl I'll definitely be on board going with Jadeveon Clowney at number one overall.

Clowney and Watt: We'll be set on that defensive line for the next decade.

he would play OLB in a 3-4 and rush the QB imo.

We could get him used to the 4-3, assuming we stay w/ the 4-3. I'm sure we will, but it's possible we could change depending on the coach ofc.

I'm betting on a QB for the Texans. New head coach will want to start his own team and his own legacy; that will begin with a new QB of his choice.

Yeah, he's implying that he'd be fine with taking Clowney if they could get someone like McCarron later.

People have this misconception that you can't draft a franchise quarterback outside of the first round when in fact you can. I'm not saying there's going to be another Russell Wilson available in the third round like there was a couple years ago, but I don't see why they can't find somebody to groom with the 33rd overall pick (1st pick in round two). I'd rather that rookie QB sit and learn a year and we'll sign a veteran QB in free agency to start in 2014.

And I doubt that the HC will do that.

I don't think your coach will share your opinion, but hey, anything could happen. There's always this pressure for a new coach to make his legacy and show that HIS decisions are why the team is winning...and the biggest problem the Texans had last season was QB. He wants to come in and make a big splash with a talented rookie, pick up some wins, and show that HE has the know-how to win. Possible to do in later rounds, yes. But far more likely to take a QB #1.

Me too but it's possible.

I personally can't stand how everyone rides the fuck out of Clowney like he is gonna be the next big thing to happen in the NFL. Ever since that hit on Smith tons of people, including ESPN, have rode his dick raw. Clowney had an open shot @ Smith and was literally unblocked. I hope to god you can light someone up in a situation like that. Hell, a train could have fit through the gap that he had to run through.

I don't want Nix but it makes a ton of sense.

I really want a WR :(

I just don't see the Texans passing up on Clowney. He'd be like another Watt Swatt on the other side.
