Who knows how Webb will be, Smith hasn't emerged as anything more than a depth guy yet (I definitely think he can be more but all I've seen are flashes, needs consistency) so for a final need, adding depth there and some insurance would be nice.

I wrote my comment before reading everything in your first post -_-

So yes, I do agree as a last or next to last priorty would be getting come depth.

2. Jacksonville – CB, DE, OT, OLB (if we don't resign Smith), SS, QB, TE, WR, DT, RB, G, FB

27. Houston – WR, NT, ILB, G, OT, OLB, K, WR

Need to add a safety in there, Wade Phillips runs a lot of 3 safeties set on nickel/dime packages. ILB is more important than NT atm, and I'd probably draft a OLB before a NT as well, depending on the talent. And we already drafted a kicker last year, Randy Bullock. He was put on IR last year, but will most likely take over the kicking duties this year.

lolwut
WR second lowest need?

Crabs, Q, VD and hope for Jenkins, that's about all the receiving you need in your offense. You signed Moore for some extra depth but you guys don't really go 4 or 5 wide and if you do, VD is one of them haha

I do think you guys will snag a TE earlier than a lot of people may be expecting but WR you can sit on for now.

Also, James can very easily jump into the slot.

I have no problems with that other than QB first. You can't still honestly believe Gabba Gabba is the answer? Unless it's for depth, QB has to be the top need for any team that may need a QB.

I was wondering where he was on the depth chart, didn't know he was on IR.

They said he had a groin tear, but I wouldnt be surprised if they just put him on IR so they didnt have to waste a roster spot.

It will be Gabbert's 3rd year. His 3rd (4th if you want to include Mel Tucker as interim for 5 games) Head Coach. His 3rd OC. His 3rd QB Coach. His 3rd System. His 2nd Owner. What other QB has gone through that kind of constant turn around, this early into his career? How is somebody going to honestly be successful in that kind of situation?

This is Gabberts make or break year. He'll either sink or swim this year. He deserves that chance. The kid is as old as many of the QBs coming out this year. It's pretty stupid that we're even talking about giving up on him honestly, at only 23 years old...

Caldwell has no ties with Gabbert, so if he wants to get his own QB that's fine. I can understand that. He wants to get his guys and build it his way. However, if he decides to take Geno Smith #2 overall, he better be right about the pick. He better hope Geno is the real deal, or else in 3-4 years he may be looking for a new job and we'd be rebuilding all over again.

It would make a whole lot more sense to me, to go elsewhere then QB. Give Gabbert that chance and build around him. There's far better QB options next year anyways if Gabbert fails.

Eugene Monroe is a FA next year. What if he doesn't resign? Maybe we would be best off going OT at #2. Joeckel or Fisher. Plug either of them in at RT, since it's a need for us. Worst comes to worst, Monroe leaves and we'd then move them over from RT to LT and find a new RT.

Other obvious options are getting a CB, or our Leo position player. DE/OLB hybrid. Somebody like Dion Jordan would fill that role. Ziggy Ansah is still my top pick in this draft regardless. I will do back flips if we draft him. We had less sacks as an ENTIRE team, then J.J Watt had alone.... Pass Rush must be addressed.

There's far better value at OT, Pass Rusher and CB. Then there would be reaching on a QB in the 1st round.

I think you misunderstood what I meant with my need rankings.

Just because a need is higher than another doesn't mean I'd draft it that way at all. The pick has to make sense value wise and need wise (and a proper fit for the team). No QB has value at #2 overall. No QB has value in the first round, but obviously it's unrealistic to think no QB will go in the first round, hell, there could be upwards of 3 taken in the top 10, 6-7 taken in the first round even simply because they're QBs lol.

As for Gabba Gabba specifically, yes he's had it hard but he hasn't shown anything in my mind. When he has flashed, it's been signs of an average QB. You guys take Matt Scott, roll the dice with him and Gabba Gabba and if you shit the bed, next year is heavy with QBs but as it stands, I still see QB as the #1 need for any team that doesn't have a solidified NFL caliber QB.
