If they didn't get hurt as frequently as they do and have the shortest shelf life of any position in the NFL, they'd be valued higher. A great RB can still make a big impact, but the league has been going more pass heavy for awhile now
Also a RB's success is not entirely dependant on just their own individual talent. A big part of most RB's success is their teams offensive line. If you can put an average RB who costs next to nothing behind a good to great O line, and his production is as good or better than a very talented RB, why would teams overpay the RB with other key positions to pay. Why a lot of the best teams build through the O line to benefit both the run and pass game, improving both areas, you can spend less on RB's, etc
Yeah no surprise teams with the highest SB odds also have the highest ranked O lines
fits with having huge money in a QB too, gotta protect that boy. Colts just let Luck take an absolute beating for years and look where that got them.
