With cancelled games and not knowing what is coming down the pipe between the governments could the NHL realign mid-season to stop cross boarder travel until the playoffs?

It really is. I think it will come down to what the provinces and states decide to do. Ontario could put mandatory quarantine again at the rate they are going.

I am also trying to figure out how they are going to determine who gets into the arena at 50% capacity when the games are already sold out here lol

There's no way re-alignment would be possible at this stage. A shortened season I could definitely see happening.

if anything they would probably end the season short go by points % and run a playoff bubble
its probably the only way to really finish out the season with the way things are going i dont see it continuing and playing out the postponed games there is just too many even if they skip the olympics
