Do you know how football squares work? I've always wanted to try it with hockey. perhaps you could host as a free roll? each period is a payout. In case you don't know you randomize both teams numbers and the end of that period is the winner. if its devils 2 Sabres 3 - that square would win.. with hockey it has to be a lot less numbers because nobodys usually scoring 7-9 goals a game, thats why i stop at 4+.. so that square will count for anything 4 and above. in this format 25 squares works the best for hockey. I know the hockey community's small so finding 25 people might be hard. So maybe give 12 people 2 squares and 1 square to the last person. or 6 people get 4 Squares and the last person gets 1 or whoever has the most fg, etc or divide on how you see fit. I'd be willing to set up the board for you if you want.

and would shootout goals count or would end of OT be the end of it?

easiest would be in shots

usually i do Final Score = Period 3 payout. But it's your free roll. i mean 4 goals isnt out of reach for most teams, but you could even lower it to 16 squares and just do 0- 3+, which is likely more doable with our community.

Heres a better example... 16 squares is probably perfect for this community, in case you get an even amount of free rollers. 8 ppl can get 2 squares, etc. divide how u see fit.
